| Attention All PIRAA Members: |
Much like most of the world, the PIRAA Executive Board is actively monitoring the Covid-19 virus, in particular how it will impact both post-secondary recruitment in Alberta, and the First Nation, Metis and Inuit communities that we collectively serve. At this time we would like to encourage anyone who has not already done so, to familiarize yourself with the prevention and risks of the Covid-19. Health Canada has a dedicated website here: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/services/diseases/2019-novel-coronavirus-infection/prevention-risks.html
We advise all recruiters to adhere to your respective institutional health and safety guidelines, and would encourage everyone to proactively contact any coordinators of planned events prior to departure. Several schools and communities are taking the risk-averse stance of cancelling events, and communications may not go out in time to prevent unnecessary travel.
We are confident that municipal, provincial and federal levels of governments are recognizing the impact of Covid-19 and that this will be dealt with as efficiently aspossible, but it is the responsibility of everyone to do their part in prevention and risk mitigation.
As always, we will try to be as proactive in communicating event cancellations and sharing information relevant to the PIRAA membership. Please feel free to reach out to any member of the Executive Board with information you would like circulated, or questions you may have regarding upcoming recruitment events.
